As legend now has it, the Quarry Butte area of the Horse Heaven Hills was destined to become a rock quarry. But Jarrod and Alexandria Nicole Boyle, their family and legion of supporters had a vision — a 327-acre vineyard. This annual blend is a tribute to that divergent path of history, and while the formula changes slightly, it remains one of ANC’s most popular wines. This vintage, the components are Cabernet Sauvignon (54%), Merlot (20%), Syrah (10%), Malbec (8%), Cabernet Franc (5%) and Petit Verdot, which produces a nose of black cherry, cocoa, cardamom, green peppercorns, green tea and toasted oak. There’s boldness, richness and length to the fluid that hints at blackberry, sweet plums and vanilla extract. This earned its silver medal at the 2014 Seattle Wine & Food Experience Wine Competition.
