A red blend that’s primed with Cabernet Sauvignon, winemaker John Petaja names this as reference to the Chehalis River. The nose hints at chocolate-covered pomegranate, blackberry, coffee and white pepper. There’s richness on the entry of cordial cherry filling and blueberry, backed by modest tannins and a pleasing finish of red currant acidity. It is supremely drinkable and was voted the best red of the 2014 Capital Food and Wine Festival Wine Competition.
