By Great Northwest Wine on April 9, 2014
In the past 10 months, Woodinville winemaker Jean Claude Beck has enjoyed a tremendous amount of success in competitions with this wine from Roza Ridge, and it’s easy to see why. The northern Yakima Valley site allows for aromas of plum sauce, blueberry plank taffy, horehound, black pepper and allspice. There’s a rich entry to the palate with blackberry jam and plum, backed by sandy tannins and a finish of buttered toast and raspberry acidity. It received a silver medal at the 2014 Seattle Wine & Food Experience Wine Competition.
