Milbrandt Vineyards 2012 Traditions Merlot, Columbia Valley, $16
By Great Northwest Wine on April 9, 2014
The Milbrandt brothers continue to grow their program with winemaker Joshua Maloney and viticulturalist Jason Schlagel, and this Merlot serves as yet another example of their teamwork and commitment to affordable quality. Aromas of black cherry, plum, chocolate, pomegranate and cherry tomato are realized on the palate, which carries a smooth and elegant structure, backed by a pinch of brown sugar. It earned a silver medal at the 2014 Seattle Wine & Food Experience Wine Competition.
