The Kearys recently made the jump to a tasting room in downtown Tenino near Olympia, which makes it easier for fans of their tasty lineup of off-dry wines. This offering is an unusual approach, starting with sweet Riesling (85%) and blending in Cabernet Sauvignon (15%). The result is an aromatic profile of black cherry, ripe strawberry, cranberry and baking spices, followed by flavors of dark strawberry and black cherry candy. At 14% residual sugar, it’s mighty sweet, but there’s enough acidity to make pretty yummy. This spring, this wine was awarded a silver medal at the Capital Food and Wine Festival Wine Competition for the second straight year.
