Best Buy! This vintage denotes the first harvest after the U.S. government established the Naches Heights American Viticultural Area atop this plateau west of Yakima, making it the 12th AVA for Washington state. Phil Cline practices sustainable farming practices in his vineyard, as do the rest of the grape growers in this tiny 37-acre appellation. His expression of Gewürz — planted at 1,700 feet elevation — flashes aromas of grapefruit, clove, dried apricot, baked apple and Bit-O-Honey, followed by fairly dry flavors of sugared yellow grapefruit, lime zest and a finish of honeydew melon.
