Armstrong Family Winery 2012 Wild Angels White Wine, Columbia Valley, $16
By some counts, there are more than 110 wineries with a presence in Woodinville, and Tim & Jen Armstrong’s ranks among the youngest, first opening its tasting room doors during the 2013 holiday season. This blend of Chardonnay (65%) from Cave B and Viognier off Boseman vineyards is named for their two young daughters, and it features aromas of honeydew melon, baked peach, lemon and clover honey. The palate is filled with flavors of apricot and lemon curd, backed by food-friendly accents of citrus and peach pit, which will complement suggested pairings with turkey, Pad Thai and sushi. These wines also are available at Wine World & Spirits in Seattle and the QFC Finn Hill in Kirkland.
