This winery in the Washington state capital city creates this blend from Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot off Red Mountain, and Dennis Gross doesn’t skimp on the oak. There’s still an abundance of black cherry, Marionberry and red currant aromas, along with a pinch of egg timer sand. The palate also brings in boysenberry, blueberry and cranberry as it is brimming with acidity, backed by modest tannins. This received a silver medal at the 2014 Capital Food and Wine Festival Wine Competition.
