There is a some sacrifice made to produce this, considering Seven Hills Vineyard has its own vineyard-designated Syrah and the StoneTree Vineyard Grenache (20%) was so remarkable that it prompted its own bottling. Juice from both joined Alder Ridge, Bacchus and Candy Mountain to help produce aromas of plums, blueberry compote and cherry, backed by cherry tomato, parsley and a whiff of smoke. Ripe purple fruit flavors akin to boysenberry and blueberry gather up sweet herbs, leading into a medium structure of balanced acidity and bittersweet chocolate tannins.
