Snoqualmie Vineyards 2012 Chardonnay, Columbia Valley, $10
By Great Northwest Wine on May 19, 2014
Best Buy! Ste. Michelle Wine Estates developed this Chardonnay as part of its “spring sippers” campaign and packaged it within lightweight bottles that tip the scale at 397 grams. That’s just under the recent requirement of 400 grams created in Canada. Joy Andersen’s latest food-friendly Chardonnay leads with clean and elegant aromas of lemon curd, Kettle Brand Unsalted potato chips, lemon oil and a whiff of smoke. On the palate, its rich approach leads with baked apple, pear and lemon oil, backed by a touch of butter and finished with lime. Andersen suggests serving this with seafood for chicken in cream sauces or fruit salsa.
