Van Duzer Vineyards 2013 Pinot Noir Rosé, Willamette Valley, $18
In recent vintages, the winemaking team has experimented with 100 percent clonal selection bottlings of Pommard and Wadenswil, but last year chose a blend Wadenswil (63%) and early picked 115. Based on this bottling, it might be a formula to follow. There are aromas and flavors of strawberry and raspberry with apricot, cola and crushed herbs. The midpalate is dry and delicate with peach and honeydew melon, which gives way to a finish of pink grapefruit. Annually, it’s a club wine, and this is a good reason to sign up.
