This group of Spokane-area winemakers has dabbled in Carménère from the Walla Walla Valley for a decade, and while their proprietary blend from Pepper Bridge and Seven Hills vineyards leads with Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), it is bolstered by Grand Vidure (30%) — aka Carménère. That explains the herbal lead to the nose, along with dusty black cherry, strawberry taffy and minerality. Its plush flavors are reminiscent of dark plum and strawberry with fine-grained tannin, an abundance of acidity and then a dusting of cocoa powder in the finish to make it extra tasty.
