Garofalo Family Winery 2012 Les Collines Vineyard Viognier, Walla Walla Valley, $16
By Great Northwest Wine on June 22, 2014
Chad Garofalo, who won a fair bit of scratch playing the state lottery last year, also had the good fortune to launch his Walla Walla winery with small lots from Les Collines Vineyard. His impressive string of early releases includes this Viognier, which offers aromas of dusty peach, Bosc pear, facial powder and vanilla extract. The drink brings tart flavors of Asian pear and Jonagold apple with a finish of lime juice and pear skin.
