Woodinville vintner Bill Grassie developed this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (86%) with Merlot from the 2011 and 2012 vintages — millesimes is a French term for vintage — and it’s the largest production red wine from his first releases. The melange from Copeland, Stillwater Creek and Quintessence vineyards first offers a nose of sweet oak with lots of cherry, mocha, moist earth and fresh-cut cedar. It’s followed by a nice approach with flavors of strawberry and red cherry in a medium structure with cranberry acidity. Enjoy with lean meats such as London broil.
