Jones of Washington 2013 Rosé of Syrah, Ancient Lakes of Columbia Valley, $13
By Great Northwest Wine on July 17, 2014
Best Buy! Victor Palencia certainly has the Midas touch with off-dry pinks, whether it be with Pinot Noir under his new label or his annual production for Jack Jones’ winery in the Columbia Basin. Its dazzling color brings out aromas of fresh-picked Rainier cherry, pomegranate, strawberry fruit leather and river rock — a telltale sign of many Ancient Lakes wines. The drink is pleasing and mouthwatering with cherries and cranberries, backed by a touch of residual sugar (1.1%) that’s skillfully balanced. This will unzip any patio party in the states where it can be found — Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.
