Milbrandt Vineyards 2013 Traditions Rosé, Columbia Valley, $13
By Great Northwest Wine on July 24, 2014
Best Buy! Red wine was Joshua Maloney’s focus during his six years at Chateau Ste. Michelle before the Milbrandt brothers hired him in 2011. Here, he stitched together Sangiovese (61%), Cabernet Sauvignon (12%), Malbec (12%), Merlot (8%) and Syrah for this delightful and colorful pink. Aromas wave in hints of strawberry taffy, cranberry juice, peach fuzz and cotton candy. It brings pleasing flavors of Rainier cherry and red currant, backed by blood orange and cranberry. That piercing and juicy acidity more than balances the residual sugar of 0.5%.
Rating: Outstanding!
