It shouldn’t take much of a safari to find the latest example from the Pacific Northwest’s leading producer of Tempranillo, especially with the yellow screwcap. This fruit-forward bottling shows just a touch of French oak in the nose with Muscavado sugar and cinnamon leading the way for ripe raspberry, red cherry, white pepper and cedar. There’s a deliciously bold delivery of black cherry, President plum and pomegranate flavors, backed by a structure of tannin and acidity that’s reminiscent of some Cabs. Suggested pairings include chorizo, Manchego cheese and grilled fare.
