The sport of roller derby celebrated its 79th anniversary in August, and SuLei Cellars created this brand to support the cause of the Walla Walla Sweets Rollergirls. (Co-owner Elaine Jomwe skates for the hometown side). This latest vintage of their traditional blend of Bordeaux varieties might be the best Jammer created by Tanya Woodley, starting with aromas of blueberry taffy, Marionberry, Chukar Cherry, purple plum, toasted cinnamon stick and warm brown sugar. She’s given it an easy drinking structure with a velvety entry of ripe dark plum, boysenberry syrup and vanilla bean. These wines are available at SuLei Cellars’ young tasting room in downtown Walla Walla, next to the Wild Walla Walla Wine Woman shop, and Seattle fans can also swing into the QFC on Capitol Hill.
