This 30-year-old site near the Coast Range and the town of Monmouth factors into the program for some of Oregon’s most historic wineries, and this Eugene-area winery entered the industry in 1979. Perfumy oak creates a sexy mood of strawberry/rhubarb jam, cherry candy, Cinnamon Bear candy and black truffle. The structure is lithe with Bing cherry and ripe raspberry flavors, followed by pomegranate acidity and elderberry skin tannins, and capped by a dusting of cocoa powder. Enjoy with Duck Confit or alder-planked salmon.
