Mercer Estates 2013 Chardonnay, Columbia Valley, $13
By Great Northwest Wine on September 21, 2014
Best Buy! Zephyr Ridge in the Horse Heaven Hills supplied most of the fruit this approachable Chardonnay that’s created with 50 percent Burgundian oak, which includes some malolactic fermentation. It features notes of pineapple, orange zest, dried papaya and cotton candy, back by hints of creamed corn and dusty minerality in the finish. Pleasing balance brings enough acidity to pair with seafood.
