Brian Rudin, now heading up the Canvasback on Red Mountain for Napa Valley icon Duckhorn, continued this Walla Walla Valley brand’s tradition with one of the Pacific Northwest’s top blends of Sauvignon Blanc (70%) and Semillon. The grapes came primarily from Frenchman Hills Vineyard near Royal City and Angiolina Vineyard in the Yakima Valley, and the presentation offers gorgeous aromas of lychee, gooseberry pie, fresh fig and caramel. There’s richness up front with more fig, followed by lime, gooseberry and crushed herbs that lead into a steely and crisp finish.
