One of the Roberts family’s most popular wines has a history of blending together Merlot, Syrah, Tempranillo, Primitivo, Refosco, Barbera and Aglianico, and the label of this bold red plays a bit off the famous Twilight series, filmed north of the winery on the Olympic Peninsula. Scents of black cherry, black raspberry and tobacco leaf lead to flavors of red raspberry and blueberry, backed by plum-skin tannins to sink your fangs into and pomegranate acidity. At the winery’s Farm to Fork Restaurant and Bakery, the suggested pairing is with prime rib, and the Roberts take a bite of their own profits from this wine to share with the Mount Rainier Chapter of the American Red Cross Blood Bank.
