By Great Northwest Wine on November 8, 2014
Fruit from Precept’s Canyon Vineyard Ranch near Prosser, Wash., formerly called Snipes Canyon Ranch, received a boost from young Summit View Vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley for this youthful expression with one of the Northwest’s hottest varieties. It carries aromas of Marionberry berry and blueberry with vanilla, black pepper and fresh dill. The drink is rich, smooth and spicy with blackberry, blueberry and cocoa flavors, supported by sandy yet sturdy tannins and cranberry acidity in the finish. Suggested pairings include barbecued ribs, cheese ravioli and steak under portabella mushrooms.
