Best Buy! Pete Buffington works with 30-year-old vines along the western slopes of the Cascades near Silverton, Ore., and this fun blend of aromatic Gewürztraminer, Early Muscat, Müller-Thurgau and Pinot Gris is quite approachable. Tropical aromas include baked pear, apricot and gooseberry with hints of toasted butter and crushed leaf. Flavors feature pear and apple swirling in a bit of sweetness (1.2% residual sugar), but there’s ample acidity that’s reminiscent of a fresh navel orange.
