Airfield Estates 2013 Vineyard Salute Flygirl White, Yakima Valley, $15
By Great Northwest Wine on November 30, 2014
Best Buy! The Miller clan’s 900-acre plantings include Runway Vineyard, which produced the Pinot Gris (52%), and their Black Rock Vineyard to the east, home to their Viognier (38%) and Roussanne for this mouthwatering and mineral-laced blend. The nose is reminiscent of Gala apple, pear, slate and rain on dusty county road, which leads to bright and clean flavors of more fresh-cut pears and white peach. Serve with pasta salads, soups featuring vegetable broth or white fish.
