Best Buy! Prosser, Wash., vintner Gordon Taylor leads his rose with Sangiovese (57%) from young plantings at nearby Lonesome Springs Ranch and builds it out using estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. It’s a lovely tribute to his late mother-in-law, Rhoda — Hebrew for rose — starting with a nose of strawberry, cherry, white peach and watermelon. It’s a delicious and pleasing drink with notes of strawberry, watermelon and cherry. The residual sugar is nearly nil, and the acidity creates length to the fascinating finish of rosewater and rose petal. Suggested fare includes feta avocado spinach salad, pork ribs and creamy pasta.
