Sundown Vineyard in the Rogue Valley, which has played a significant role in many Joe Dobbes wines, also contributes here. The nose is filled with red currant, President plum and cola, joined by black olive, exotic spices and some leafiness. A rich entry of dark cherry and currant flavors leads to a hint of sweet herbs and toasted cigar among a backing of plush tannins with lime acidity. Suggested pairings range from dry-rubbed BBQ meats to vegetarian dishes featuring broccoli and mushrooms to a variety of smoked cheeses.
