Colter’s Creek Winery 2013 Viognier, Snake River Valley, $15
By Great Northwest Wine on December 27, 2014
Best Buy! Spokane native Melissa Sanborn earned a science degree from Washington State University, and she and her husband launched their winery not far from the Palouse in the proposed Lewis-Clark Valley American Viticultural Area. They source their opulent Viognier from the Snake River Valley, and it presents tones of Bosc pear, orange blossom, baked apple and candy corn, framed by racy acidity to allow for pairing with fish, poultry or creamy pasta. This earned a silver medal at the 2014 Idaho Wine Competition.
