51. Chateau Ste. Michelle 2012 Eroica Gold Riesling, Columbia Valley, $35

Eroica GOLD Riesling_NVUsing grapes from two of winemaker Bob Bertheau’s favorite Riesling vineyards – Viewcrest and Lawrence – this luscious wine balances rich residual sugar (6.64%) with stunning acidity (2.93 pH), all with a touch of spicy botrytis. The result is an amazing white with rich tropical flavors and a finish that isn’t nearly as sweet as one would expect. It’s a remarkable wine experience.
