Scott DeSeelhorst, owner/grower/winemaker for Wine Press Northwest’s 2013 Idaho Winery of the Year, creates two wines based upon the Portuguese variety Touriga Naçional. There’s a standalone varietal table wine, and then there’s this Port-style that’s dusty and dark with aromas and flavors of Bing cherry, strawberry jam and sweet herbs. While named for a Spanish term for anarchy, its residual sugar (9%) and fortified nature makes this a companion for cold night by a warm fire with pungent cheese and toasted filberts.
