William Church Winery 2012 Syrah, Yakima Valley, $25
By Great Northwest Wine on January 9, 2015
This Woodinville, Wash., winery offers a Syrah from the Yakima Valley that hits a lot of high notes, starting with whiffs of dusty oak, blackberry, smoky black cherry, vanilla, baking spices and a charcuterie plate. It’s a bold and rich drink of plum sauce, black cherry and dark chocolate, backed by pomegranate juiciness and another drop of vanilla extract.
