AniChe Cellars 2013 Come & Go Albariño, Yakima Valley, $20
By Great Northwest Wine on January 20, 2015
Columbia Gorge winemaker/author Rachael Horn creates a tapestry of blends within her portfolio on Underwood Mountain, yet this is her only single-variety, single-vineyard release — an Albariño from Dutchman Vineyard in Grandview, Wash. Her reading with this Iberian grape presents a wildly aromatic theme with bright notes of lime, peach, mango and pineapple. On the palate, it offers delicious balance amid flavors of starfruit, dried peach, lime and lemongrass. It earned a silver medal at the 2014 Columbia Gorge Wine Competition, and she signs off on serving it with shellfish, curries and white fish.
