Convergence Zone Cellars 2011 Hedges Vineyard Black Cloud Malbec, Red Mountain, $35
By Great Northwest Wine on February 2, 2015
Puget Sound city planner Scott Greenberg returns to Sunset Road on Red Mountain for his Malbec, and he has found his stride with this Bordeaux variety. Fruity aromas of dark cherry and pomegranate pick up barrel notes of bittersweet chocolate, fig and coffee. It’s a juicy drink with cherry, blackberry and fresh plum, supported by managed tannins, and finished with hints of pomegranate, bay leaf and cinnamon. This two-barrel production will be available March 2015 via Amazon and at his winery in the Woodinville Warehouse District.
