Last year marked the release of Silvan Ridge’s first bottling from a certified Low Input Viticulture and Enology site — Gold Vineyard in Talent, a 20-acre site planted in 1983. This vintage signaled when Juan Pablo Valot took over the winemaking, and the Argentine native created a Malbec of bold and dark tones. Black cherry compote, dark plum, toast and mocha leads to flavors of black currant and plum. Pomegranate acidity and tannins akin to espresso grounds are capped by Baker’s chocolate and black pepper.
Rating: Excellent
Production: 313 cases
Alcohol: 14.1%

I just had this wine for dinner. It was a gift from a friend. It was totally amazing. I saved enough to savor it with a few pieces of tellichery pepper and sea sat chocolate. Totally orgasmic combination. I went to Silvan’s website to see if any of this wine is for sale and don’t see it. This is infinitely better than any Argentine malbecs I have had yet. Dying to find more of this wine!!!
