Two Mountain Winery 2013 Copeland Vineyard Chardonnay, Rattlesnake Hills, $21
By Great Northwest Wine on February 15, 2015
The Rawn brothers in the Yakima Valley offer two styles of Chardonnay, and this is considerably more fruit-forward than the full-on, reserve style bottled under their high-tier, low-production “Bros.” brand. There’s still a bit of oak influence, starting with aromas of toasted filberts and baked apple, but there are some tropical notes, too. It follows through on the palate with an enjoyable entry of pineapple, mango and apple sauce leading to a midpalate of creaminess and brioche. They are whisked to the sidelines by finish of lime and hint of minerality.
Rating: Excellent
Production: 208 cases
Alcohol: 13.3%
