Best Buy! Seattle-based Precept Wine named this label for the languid ponds between the tasting room and production facility at Waterbrook Winery in Walla Walla. John Freeman’s team has developed a rather complex Merlot, particularly at this price point. Aromas of spicy oak, pomegranate, cola, coffee, bay leaf and alfalfa lead to flavors of cherry, blueberry and pomegranate. Resolved tannins and herbal notes make for a medium-bodied Merlot that’s food-friendly for beef, hearty soups and tomato-based dishes.

We loved Two Ponds 2013 cab. Are you not making any new harvest. What is the price for the 2013 merlot?
Eric Degerman says
Greetings, Charles.
Two Ponds has been a brand under the Precept Wine portfolio, but we haven’t seen any activity with that label for several years. In sticking with Precept, a similar style and price point would be Sagelands Vineyard, which also is made with Columbia Valley fruit.
Sincerely,
Eric
