Hagen Kruger, whose white wine program from Okanagan Falls, British Columbia, shines as brightly as any others on the West Coast, continues his Midas touch with this blend of equal parts Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc and Riesling. This tasting room favorite offers aromas reminiscent of a sliced yellow grapefruit with maraschino cherry in the middle, joined by Fuji apple, Asian pear, honeydew melon and clove. The Gewurz component also leads the palate with pink grapefruit and lychee flavors. The sweetness (3.2% residual sugar) rounds out the palate, yet there’s plenty acidity and clove spice to offer balance, leading to a slice of Asian pear in the finish. Suggested fare includes seafood and spicy Asian fare.
