Convergence Zone Cellars 2013 Bacchus Vineyard Dewpoint Riesling, Columbia Valley, $17
By Great Northwest Wine on February 27, 2015
Woodinville winemaker Scott Greenberg’s lineup of vineyard-designated wines takes in some of the Pacific Northwest’s oldest Riesling plantings, and while he doesn’t categorize it on the front of the label, he goes after this in an increasingly dry style compared with previous vintages. A classic nose of diesel, slate and Granny Smith apple rings true on the palate with added flavors of Jolly Rancher Apple Candy and orange segments. Lime juice easily balances the residual sugar of 0.8%, which is a touch drier than the 2012 version.
