Naches Heights Vineyard 2013 Late Harvest Pinot Gris, Yakima Valley, $21
By Great Northwest Wine on March 29, 2015
Phil Cline’s wine program and high-elevation, certified sustainable vineyard northwest of Yakima excel with the aromatic white varieties, and he serves up another example for dessert. Aromas of baked apricot, honey, cinnamon and toasted filberts are realized on the palate, which carries 9 percent residual sugar. Refreshing acidity makes it a bright and tasty after-dinner companion, which is why it merited a silver medal at the 2015 Seattle Wine and Food Experience Wine Awards. This, as well as many of the NHV wines, is available via Amazon.
