Seven of Hearts vintner Byron Dooley created this high-tier brand to showcase his LIVE certified and Salmon-Safe estate vineyard in the southwest portion of the Yamhill-Carlton American Viticultural Area. His clonal blend of 777 in Jory soil and Pommard in sedimentary soil unveils aromas of President plum, rhubarb compote, cocoa, lilac, fresh bay leaf, baking spices and a hint of minerality. The choice of whole-cluster fermentation creates a smooth entry of cherry pie and strawberry-rhubarb jam, backed by a supple midpalate of red plum and red currant. Blueberry acidity and bittersweet chocolate tannins make for an elegant finish.
