Dick Shaw, this year’s honorary grower for the Auction of Washington Wines, followed up his initial plantings on the Wahluke Slope with multiple vineyards on Red Mountain. He and his wife, Wendy, developed this Walla Walla brand as a tribute to their fathers, and yet, they continue to have the talented Victor Palencia build these wines. Aromas of dark chocolate, black cherry and plum also offer up rose petal. The entry is bold with ripe purple fruit, while moderate yet sandy tannins provide the perfect level of grip. These wines only are available at the Henry Earl tasting room on Main Street next to Olive Marketplace and Cafe.
