Winter’s Hill Estate 2012 Pinot Noir, Dundee Hills, $39
The Gladhart family’ Jory-soiled vineyard has high-end producers Domaine Serene and Stoller Vineyards as neighbors, and the site has been Salmon-Safe for more than 15 years. French-trained winemaker Delphine Gladhart, who married into the family, used a stellar vintage to help capture the essence of the Dundee Hills with this gorgeous Pinot Noir. The nose of raspberry jam, dusty black cherry and cranberry sauce includes hints of toasted walnut and minerality. It follows through with vibrant flavors of fresh cranberry sauce, ripe raspberry and Rainier cherry, framed by easy tannins and juicy acidity. Suggested pairings include wild game or pork roast.
