The flagship release of this wine-country lodge south of downtown Walla Walla comes through as blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), Merlot (25%) and Cabernet Franc from Pheasant Run Vineyard surrounding the tasting room. The 22-month barrel program of 80% new oak imparts tones of dark toast and nutmeg with ripe plum, black cherry, raspberry, mint and black pepper. Its structure is rather massive, yet there’s a wealth of dark fruit to support the tannins now and for time to come, meriting a silver medal at the 2015 Seattle Wine and Food Experience Wine Awards.
