By Great Northwest Wine on May 14, 2015
This showpiece winery south of downtown Walla Walla has released this showy Cab for owners Steve and JoMarie Hansen, harvested the fall before the couple from Vancouver, Wash., took full control of the property. A 22-month program of 100% French oak, combined with a cool vintage, makes for aromas of black cherry, blackberry and dark chocolate, joined by hints of cocoa butter, graphite and lime peel. Intense dark fruit flavors and reined-in tannins allow for a savory finish of black olive. It received a silver medal at the 2015 Seattle Wine and Food Experience Wine Awards.
