Fruit from one of the Washington state’s workhorse vineyards — Alder Ridge — ends up in the Seattle neighborhood of Georgetown with winemaker Tom Stangeland. More than half of this barrel program features new oak, a mix of French and American, and that is apparent with aromas of milk chocolate, toasted wood and vanilla backed by blackberry, mint and cigar box. The drink supplies flavors of cherry pie and bittersweet chocolate with fine-grained, yet frontal blueberry skin tannins that are chased by Marionberry.
