Isabelle Dutarte of De Ponte Cellars and 1789 Wines is one of six winemakers who create bottlings for the Durant family, and this Pinot Noir from Pommard clone hails from the Bishop Block, a parcel to native rootstock and among the first planted in 1973. It’s a remarkably juicy wine from start to finish, opening with POM Juice, black raspberry, red currant and mint aromas and flavors. Sturdy tannins and Montmorency cherry acidity will pair well with Duck Confit.
