Silvan Ridge Winery 2013 Viognier, Rogue Valley, $18
By Great Northwest Wine on July 3, 2015
This vintage marks the first year of complete winery control for Argentina native Juan Pablo Valot, and his style shows with this aromatic, crisp and food-friendly version of this often luscious white Rhône grape. There are classic notes of orange Creamsicle and apple blossom with grilled Asian pear in the nose. It follows up with clean and lean flavors of Asian pear and Gala apple, backed by peach skin bitterness and dried apricot in the finish. Suggested pairings include this Food Network recipe for Shrimp and Vegetable Yellow Curry.
