Hard Row to Hoe Vineyards 2013 Pinot Noir, Lake Chelan, $30
By Great Northwest Wine on July 7, 2015
Clos CheValle Vineyard is one of Lake Chelan’s most picturesque growing sites along the south shore and near Bear Mountain Golf Resort, and it serves as the source of Pinot Noir for Judy Phelps. She made the pick on Sept. 19, her choice of 30% new Odysè oak from France creates aromas of smoked cherry, red currant, Strawberry Skittles, cinnamon and clove. Inside, there’s beautiful clarity with flavors of pie cherry and dried black currant, backed by remarkable balance and capped by a dash of cinnamon.
