Best Buy! It seems natural for Woondville winemaker Jean Claude Beck — a native of Alsace — to create such a sleek and vibrant wine by blending Riesling (60%), Muscat (35%) and Gewürztraminer from Hyatt Vineyard in the Rattlesnake Hills and the Davis family’s Stoneridge Vineyard in the Frenchman Hills. There’s a feral and green undertone to the steady push of Granny Smith apple, gooseberry, Bosc pear and kiwi fruit, backed by river rock, petrol, celery leaf and hint of lychee. Its nervy acidity and bone-dry finish may also appeal to fans of Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand.
Rating: Outstanding!
Production: 2,200 cases
Alcohol: 12.5%
