Lawrence Vineyards on the Royal Slope near Royal City, Wash., has become a core source for this pioneering winery in the Idaho Panhandle. This block, planted along a north-facing slope 1,600 feet elevation, allows James Bopp to develop this in a crisp, refreshing and low-alcohol style that opens with bright aromas of white peach, Asian pear and gooseberry that are joined by lemongrass and white pepper. The flavorful approach of dusty Gala apple, dried pear and lemon juice carries an undercurrent of river rock that screams for seafood or a Waldorf salad.
